1.The Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience in Edinburgh

★★★★★★★★★★5.0 · 4,322 reviews · 1 hour 30 minutes (approx.) · from $44Our pick

At The Chocolatarium on Cranston Street, a guide such as Kelly, Coco, or Hannah leads you from cocoa bean to chocolate bar. You will taste chocolates from Scotland and around the world, learn how chocolate is made, and design your own bar to take home. The small group is limited to 16 people.

“Having gone on a couple other chocolate tours, this was our best experience yet. We made our own chocolates to take home and that was our favorite part. Lots of options to choose from when designing your own bar. The knowledge shared with us was also very interesting! Some of the things we already knew but a lot of it was interesting facts we didn’t know yet. The tasting we also did was another highlight. We tried some chocolates I never seen as well as tried some flavors that required more of my taste buds than I expected. GREAT EXPERIENCE! Our tour guide was great and knowledgeable.”

“Totally disappointed. Did not live up to the billing at all! We had three (3!) stops, only two of which had food. Our last stop was a small part of a cold pie from Greggs - if you're American think 7-11 - and broken candy from the guides bag. It started well at the first pub with suggested drinks and hot Scottish food, but was just wandering without food or drinks. We had to suggest the 2nd stop since it didn't appear to be planned in advance at all. Our guide was super pleasant and tried his best but needed an itinerary. In the end, I felt completely ripped off.…”

He was freindly engaging and knowlegable of the food, history and local area. Definately come hungary as the portions were much larger than we usually get on other food tours. Highly recommend as you arrive in town and give the popular scottish dishes a try.”
